Ten Slides, 32 Metres High and 300 Square Metres of Safety Flooring
Ten slides descend from heights of up to 32 metres: the slide tower at Panorama Park Sauerland is the largest of its kind in North Rhine-Westphalia. Around 300 m² of REGUPOL playfix FX50 safety tiles with a red EPDM surface were installed in the run-out areas of the slides.
The activity does not end when the ride is over. Children reach the bottom, run to the next slide or immediately head back up the tower. The flooring in this area must therefore not only reduce the impact of falls, but also withstand the intensive use associated with a leisure park.
“Our slide tower is used by large numbers of children and families. It was therefore important to us that the flooring beneath the structure complemented the attraction while also meeting the relevant safety requirements. The red surface blends in very well with the overall design,” says Jennifer Droste of Panorama Park Sauerland.
REGUPOL playfix FX50 is a two-layer safety flooring system for play and recreational areas. The installed tiles have been tested in accordance with DIN EN 1177 and form a continuous safety surface at the run-out of each slide. As the tiles are securely installed, the safety flooring remains permanently in place where it is needed.
The slip-resistant surface helps provide secure footing even in wet conditions. At the same time, the tiles are water-permeable, allowing rainwater to drain away quickly. This means that, even in changeable weather conditions, the areas in front of the slides are soon ready for the next ride.
