Safe play at Kita Kanzleigasse in Heidelberg thanks to REGUPOL playfix safety tiles

With around 60 children playing, running and climbing on the premises every day, the daycare centre made a conscious decision to use REGUPOL playfix FX safety tiles. Physical activity is essential for children’s development, and the safety tiles provide the necessary protection against injuries.

A total of 315 m² of safety tiles in standard red were installed for this project. Tested in accordance with DIN EN 1177, the tiles were used in two different thicknesses: 110 mm tiles for areas with fall heights of up to 3 metres and 75 mm tiles for zones where the maximum fall height is 2.10 metres. The different versions make it possible to provide optimum protection for various play areas while encouraging children to enjoy playing and climbing.

Thanks to the shock-absorbing properties of the safety tiles, potential falls are gently cushioned and the risk of injury is reduced. This allows children to climb high and fully immerse themselves in play with greater peace of mind.

In addition to the high level of safety provided by the impact protection tiles, design also plays an important role. The vibrant red of the tiles blends harmoniously into the overall playground concept, creating an inviting and cheerful atmosphere that encourages exploration and creative play. Colours are known to play an important role in children’s development, stimulating their imagination and creativity.

REGUPOL also supplied 22 REGUPOL playfix sandpit surrounds, likewise in red. These help keep the sand in place while creating a smooth transition between the different play areas. The sand pit, often a central attraction for younger children, is thus integrated into the playground in a safe and visually appealing way.

The materials used for the playground are characterised by their durability and weather resistance. As outdoor playground equipment and surfacing are exposed to demanding weather conditions, it was particularly important for the products used to be robust and easy to maintain. REGUPOL impact protection tiles and sandpit safety surrounds withstand even challenging conditions and remain in good condition for many years. This makes them a sustainable and economically sound investment for the daycare centre. To ensure the safe and durable installation of the impact protection tiles, REGUPOL also supplied suitable accessories, including connector pins and PU adhesive.

With the successful completion of this project, REGUPOL once again demonstrates that the highest safety standards, durability and attractive design can go hand in hand. Kita Kanzleigasse in Heidelberg now benefits from a safe and aesthetically appealing play environment. Thanks to the high-quality materials and carefully considered design, the playground will remain a place of safe adventure for children for many years to come.
