REGUPOL Running Track at Heinz-Steyer-Stadion in Dresden
At the heart of the track system is the industrially prefabricated REGUPOL base mat, which ensures consistent sports performance characteristics. The stadium has already hosted major athletics events, including the German Athletics Championships and the international "Goldenes Oval" meeting.
Heinz-Steyer-Stadion, located in Dresden's Ostra Sports Park, has a long sporting history. As part of an extensive modernization project, the venue was transformed into a multifunctional arena for competitive and recreational sports. Since its reopening in August 2024, the stadium has provided modern facilities for national and international athletics events as well as other sports.
REGUPOL champion AG – Running Track Surface for Competitive Athletics
The REGUPOL champion AG running track surface was installed across a total area of 8,550 m² in red. The traditional color emphasizes the character of the athletics facility and blends into the modernized stadium.
A key quality feature of the track system is the industrially prefabricated, elastic REGUPOL base mat. It forms the functional foundation of the surface and plays a significant role in the track's sports performance characteristics. Controlled manufacturing under consistent production conditions ensures uniform material quality and defined layer thicknesses. This enables consistent shock absorption and a uniform running experience across the entire surface.
Combined with the seamlessly applied, spike-resistant and slip-resistant EPDM surface layer, the result is a durable running track system designed to meet the requirements of training and competition. The combination of a prefabricated base mat and an on-site applied surface layer is a defining feature of the REGUPOL champion AG system, providing athletes with reliable conditions for various athletics disciplines.
National and International Competitions on REGUPOL
Since its reopening, Heinz-Steyer-Stadion has regularly hosted national and international athletics events. In 2024, the traditional "Goldenes Oval" meeting returned to Dresden as part of the stadium's reopening celebrations.
On June 1, 2025, another edition of the international athletics meeting took place, with German and international athletes competing in various track and field disciplines. The "Goldenes Oval" was also held at Heinz-Steyer-Stadion in 2026.
Another major sporting event followed from July 31 to August 3, 2025, with the German Athletics Championships. As part of the multisport event "Die Finals 2025," Germany's athletes competed for national championship titles at Heinz-Steyer-Stadion. The REGUPOL champion AG running track provided the surface for the track events.
Tradition Meets Modern Sports Infrastructure
The modernization of Heinz-Steyer-Stadion has brought a historic athletics venue in line with the requirements of modern sports. The REGUPOL champion AG running track combines the benefits of an industrially prefabricated base mat with a durable surface and a traditional red color scheme.
The project in Dresden demonstrates how REGUPOL contributes to the modernization of sports facilities with running track systems designed to provide functional solutions for national and international training and competition.
